Alfred Gabay teaches at La Trobe University in Victoria, Australia, in the Department of History, where he recently received a doctoral degree. With a baccalaureate degree in Philosophy from the University of California, he has particular interest in religious thought and its cultural influence, and especially in psychic experience. In this connection, he has published studies of Alfred Deakin, a late 19th Century prime minister of Australia.
