Sometimes people seem to think that the Lord wants everything we do to seem "nice." This is a false idea. Sometimes we need to strongly defend other people and what is good and true. But when James and John asked if they could call fire from heaven to destroy a Samaritan village, they thought it was a just punishment for the bad choices of that village. Jesus strongly disagreed.
