The Lord is constantly working in the most specific ways with each of us from the beginning of life to lead us to be happily married to eternity. While we are unaware of this, the Lord teaches us things we can also do to help prepare for marriage. This is why our religion, with its teachings, is so inseparably tied in with conjugial love and its promise for happiness.
