"A real sense of freedom comes only with struggle and victory. So guidance has to be wise and understanding - to avoid discouragement....
This is the story of 12 tribes of Israel - they were scattered, no central place or government. No leader had replaced Joshua. They became idolatrous and carefless of their defences. Then the Lord would raise up a judge to meet the crisis, but only for that place and time, not for entire land/ people.
