Worship Service: Sermon only - January 24, 2016
This message considers how the Lord is looking to lead every one of us into a state of life where we live in an environment of true mutual love, where we think of every other person as being our spiritual brother or sister. It includes a story of an American paratrooper who was taken in by an English couple who made him part of their family while he was stationed in their country during World War II. | By Rev. Garry B. Walsh | Phoenix, AZThe Philistines Return the Ark
Worship Service: Sermon only - January 24, 2016
Last week we explored the story of the Philistines capturing the ark of the Covenant and the terrible things that happened to them because of it. The Philistines represent a faith that is devoid of love and charity. The terrible things that happened to them represent the spiritual damage that we do to ourselves when we separate faith from charity. This morning we will continue this story and read about how the Philistines eventually chose to return the Ark of the Covenant to its rightful owner - the Children of Israel. The story of how they did this is filled with wonderful representations of how the Lord leads us away from the destructive life of faith alone, and towards a life where faith and charity are conjoined. Three images stand out: 1. The Philistines built a new cart to carry the Ark back to Israel... 2. They made five golden tumors and five golden mice... 3. They yoked two milk cows to the cart... This week reflect on the rich image of how the Philistines returned the Ark of the Covenant to Israel. How is this an image of the Lord inviting us to escape a faith alone existence? How does the Lord lead us to conjoin our faith with a life of love and charity? | By Rev. Matthew L. Genzlinger | West Concord, MAGathering in the Lord's Name

Baptism is one of the holiest acts of worship. It brings closer to the Lord through correspondence. Baptism brings unto spiritual community, commits us to follow the Lord, and promises us that we can be spiritual reborn. | By Rev. Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - January 17, 2016
Is it possible to really change? At the beginning of the year, it's a question we may find ourselves asking. The startling answer from the Lord's Word: both yes and no. According to the Word, we have two "selves" or "wills" at the same time: a fleshly one, and a spiritual one. The fleshly will doesn't change and will always be fleshly, but the good news is that we can choose to act from the spiritual one instead - if we put the fleshly one to death. How do we do that? Listen on! | By Rev. Coleman S. Glenn | Westville, RSASwedenborg Made Simple - Heaven
Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - January 17, 2016
Swedenborg bears witness of the spiritual world, including heaven and hell. He tells us that heaven looks and feels much like this world, but better. And he tells us that it is what is inside of us that brings us to our place in the next world. Heaven is something we bring with us from this world into the next. | By Rev. "But God came to Abimelech in a dream by night, and said to him, 'Indeed you are a dead man because of the woman whom you have taken, for she is a man's wife.' But Abimelech had not come near her, and he said, 'Lord, will You slay a righteous nation also?'"(Genesis 20:3-4) | By Rev. Eric H. Carswell | Bryn Athyn CathedralRecognizing the Truth

Worship Service: Sermon only - January 10, 2016
This message considers the Parable of the Wedding Feast. In the internal or spiritual sense it is a story of how parts of us might currently want to reject the Lord's invitation while other parts of us readily accept it and want to be joined with Him in His kingdom. These different aspects of the person we are inside are found in every affection that we feel. | By Rev. Garry B. Walsh | Phoenix, AZSeeing Patterns by Eric Carswell
Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - January 10, 2016
This Sunday we will be hearing a sermon by Eric Carswell called “Seeing Patterns.” It takes a funny and not very well-known story from the Old Testament and uses it to explore how we can come to see negative patterns in our lives, even when we don’t particularly want to. | By Rev. Malcolm G. Smith | Westville, RSASwedenborg Made Simple - Swedenborg
Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - January 10, 2016
Swedenborg claims to have published revelations that are to correct and heal the church. The evidence available prompts us to believe that Swedenborg did have connection with the spiritual world. But it is the works themselves that are his greatest witness. | By Rev. Derrick Lumsden | Sarver, PAWithout Thee We Can Do Nothing

Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - January 10, 2016
Throughout the Scriptures the Lord continually tells us to turn. He encourages us to take small steps in our effort to turn towards Him. This morning we will ask the question: How do we go about turning towards the Lord? What does this look like? | By Rev. Matthew L. Genzlinger | Boston, MAQuestioning the Lord's Authority
Worship Service: Sermon only - January 03, 2016
This message thinks about what some people who saw the Lord in the world were missing out on. They failed to see that His essence was Love itself. They therefore were not open to receiving the blessings He had on offer. If we are not careful we might find ourselves doing something similar today. | By Rev. Garry B. Walsh | Phoenix, AZFour Reasons New Year's Resolutions Fail
Worship Service: Childrens Talk only - January 03, 2016
Four Reasons we fail to live out our New Year's Resolutions and other life changes are: making resolutions we don't want to keep, not being willing to suffer self compulsion, not bringing the Lord into the process, failing to fail successfully. If we want to stick to a life change we have to work through these challenges: know that part of us doesn't want to change and that we are going to have to do it anyway, ask the Lord for help, and don't let failure discourage us. | By Rev. Derrick Lumsden | Sarver, PA
