Living Gratefully
Doctrinal Class - September 30, 2015
A seven class series on the five laws of Providence. 1) Introduction. 2) Freedom: We have freedom to choose our own actions. Whatever seems reasonable to us (see DP 71-99). 3) Change: When we change the external negative behaviors that we are aware of, God takes care of the deeper issues that we are not aware of (DP 100-128). 4) Love: We can't be forced to love or believe anything that we don't want to love or believe. We can only compel ourselves - not others. (DP 129-153). 5) Enlightenment: We are inspired and led by God through teachings from the Word. (DP 154-174). 6) Trust: We cannot see providence in action, but only in retrospect.(DP 175-190). 7) Review | By Rev. Eric H. Carswell | Bryn Athyn Cairnwood Village

The Lord's Purpose
Worship Service: Sermon only - September 27, 2015
Our "Living Gratefully" series focuses on the five laws of Providence, asking us to see the ways the Lord governs and guides us as gifts that we can be grateful for. What was the Lord's underlying purpose in giving us these laws. Knowing why He leads us helps us understand how He does so, and helps us understand what we can do to gratefully respond to his leading. | By Rev. Erik J. Buss | Bryn Athyn Cathedral
