I and My Father are One
Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - December 04, 2022
At Christmas we love to celebrate the birth of the baby Jesus who was born into this world! However, do we really know who this infant being was? Was He the Son of God or the Father? Was He the Son of Mary? Was He God Almighty? Was He Jehovah? Was He the Creator? Was He the Redeemer? We will take a look at who this little infant Saviour really was who came and dwelt among us here on earth. | By Rt. Rev. Bradley D. Heinrichs | Westville, RSAOur Path to Heaven

Our path to heaven is called, in one place, a Way of Holiness (Isaiah 35:8). It’s about the Lord’s commandments, and about living the life that leads to heaven. Our focus on Sunday will be on why it is so helpful to us to walk in that way—the benefits to us now, as well as a future in heaven. | By Rt. Rev. Peter M. Christmas season where we celebrate the birth of the Lord is rapidly approaching and it is useful to us to think about all the things we need to do in order to prepare for His Advent. One key item on each of our checklists should be to REPENT! We will discuss the important role John the Baptist played in preparing people for the Lord’s coming. | By Rt. Rev. Bradley D. Our topic will focus on how the Lord sets us free—how we can free our minds from what traps us. “Jehovah God came down and took on a human manifestation in order to redeem people and save them (True Christianity 82). | By Rev. John L. Odhner | Bryn Athyn Heilman HallAnswering the Call

Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - November 20, 2022
The Lord came into this world to heal the sick. He did not come to those who were already healthy. Likewise, the Lord did not come to the righteous, or those who thought they were righteous, but to sinners, to heal them of their sin. The Lord pointed to this truth every time He healed someone who was physically ill. The physical healing was only an outward sign of the inward miracle: the healing of spiritual sin. Each and every one of our sins could be portrayed as an outward ailment. This week we turn to leprosy, through which we will learn what happens when we become isolated from God and from each other through sin, and how the Lord reconciles with us and restores us to our communities. | By Rev. On the cross, the Lord told one of the robbers, “Today, you will be with Me in paradise.” The story of Moses at the end of his life, on Mount Nebo, seeing the promised land is a reminder to us that heaven is “right there.” Do we see it? Getting to heaven is the culmination of all that the Lord’s providence does in our lives. Note: Background music is included by permission of the copyright owner John Odhner | By Rev. Worship Service: Sermon only - November 13, 2022
(Week 3) Moses was called to do a very important job. So are we. The way the Lord works through us during the “ups” and “downs” of adulthood (20-60 years of age) can be considered “holy ground.” Through every detail of life, the Lord is leading us toward the promised land. | By Rev. Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - November 13, 2022
This is the conclusion of our three-part series on temptations. In the end we have to confront our love of ourselves. This is at the heart of any spiritual struggle. We want to be in charge, so much so that we want to be able to control the Lord. This is represented in the Lord’s last temptation. The devil took Him up onto the pinnacle of the temple, and told Him to throw Himself to the ground. Doesn’t the Word say that “He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you,” and, “In their hands they shall bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone”? (Luke 4:10, 11). In others words, test the Lord. The Lord says that He’ll keep you safe. But let’s see if He really will. Force His hand. Make Him rescue you. Yet that is not how it works. The Lord will help us when we have made it clear that we want His help. In order to do this we must put aside love of self and put our trust in Him. | By Rev. Seeing Providence in Our Lives - Week 2. How does Divine Providence work in our lives when we are young? The story of the birth of Moses, in Exodus chapter two, illustrates how the Lord provides for us in our early years. | By Rev. Solomon J. Keal | Bryn Athyn CathedralSeeing Providence: The Early Years

In week 2 of our Journey program, “Seeing Providence,” we will be focusing on the early years of our lives. We will reflect on the dangers and the blessings of the early years of Moses’ life and try to see some glimpses of the Lord’s providence in the dangers and blessings of the early years of our own lives. | By Rev. Malcolm G. Smith | Bryn Athyn Heilman HallTempted in the Wilderness - 2 - Twisting the Truth
Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - November 06, 2022
Last week we talked about resisting the urge to pursue pleasure above all else. This week we will look at the more intellectual side of temptation: the temptation to twist the truth to suit our own needs. This is represented in the Devil offering Jesus the kingdoms of the world, if only He would worship him. Jesus rebuked the devil, saying that God, and God alone, is to be worshipped and served. We are tempted to make ourselves the rulers and arbiters of what is right and wrong. Yet true freedom lies in serving the Lord and abiding by His rules for life. | By Rev. Joel C Glenn | Westville, RSA
