When Jesus was only a few weeks old His parents brought Him to the temple, as was the custom. There they were met a man, Simeon, who held Jesus in his arms, blessed Him, and gave thanks. The image of the old man Simeon holding the new-born Jesus is a useful one to start the year off with. On the one hand we have someone reaching the end of his life. On the other a life just beginning. When we reach these important transitions it is important that we, like Simeon, can recognise the hope for the future and trust the Lord is creating something good even if we will not live to see it. | By Rev. Joel C Glenn | Westville, RSAThe Lord of Joy Has Come
Worship Service: Sermon only - December 25, 2017
This Christmas message thinks about how the Lord was born into the world to fight for us against the forces of evil that try to hurt us. It is because He continues to fight for us that we are able to experience positive emotions such as joy. | By Rev. Garry B. Walsh | Phoenix, AZAnd His Name Will Be Called

This Christmas Day, as we celebrate the Lord being born into this world, we will be reflecting on the significance of some of the many different names that that little baby was called. | By Rev. Malcolm G. Smith | Westville, RSAUnto Us a Child is Born
Worship Service: Sermon only - December 25, 2017
We celebrate the Lord's birth as one of the great miracles of history, as we should. We can trace the enormous impact from the Lord's teaching, and presence in the world. How real is the Lord's birth and presence with us? What can we do to make it even more so? | By Rev. Erik J. Buss | Bryn Athyn CathedralExcitement Before the Game

The wise men waited and watched for a star. When they saw it, they knew it meant the promised king had been born and they followed it to find Him. We too can look for stars and use them to guide us to the Lord and being wisely kind to others. Hand Bell interlude arr by Kent Cooper. Used by permission. We think as well about the three gifts that the Wise Men presented. | By Rev. Garry B. Walsh | Phoenix, AZSimple to Profound
Doctrinal Class - December 13, 2017
A three class series. The simple stories of Christmas stand as windows, as it were, through which we can see deep truths about the Lord and about our lives. | By Rt. Rev. Peter M. Buss, Jr. | Bryn Athyn Cathedral Social HallThe Journey of the Wise Men - Part 1 From the East to Jerusalem
Worship Service: Sermon only - December 10, 2017
This week's Christmas season message looks at the personal meaning and application for us of the first stage of the journey of the wise men. They saw the star and followed it. However, instead of being led by the star to the infant Lord in Bethlehem they were led to Jerusalem. Why did they go to the wrong place, and why might we sometimes need to go to the wrong place in order to then be redirected to where the Lord really is? | By Rev. Garry B. Walsh | Phoenix, AZWitness to the Light
Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - December 10, 2017
Before Jesus could begin His ministry He needed John to prepare the way first. The world at the time was in such a bad state that people could not have taken in Jesus teachings if John had not first prepared them and filled them with hope for Jesus' coming. John did this by bearing witness to Jesus' Light, so that when that light did come people could recognise it and embrace it. | By Rev. Joel C Glenn | Westville, RSA
