Swedenborg's Preparation
Doctrinal Class - February 07, 2018
A two class series on the historical changes in the sciences and freedom of religion that took place before Swedenborg could publish the writings. | By Rev. Dr Andrew M. Dibb | Bryn Athyn Cathedral Social HallTen Commandments, Part 9 - True Witness
Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - February 04, 2018
Getting a true perspective on life depends entirely on what witnesses you believe. We are commanded to not bear false witness against our neighbor so that truth and justice can prevail for others. We also must seek the truth and trust the witness of the Lord, which happens as we flee from false witness of every kind. | By Rev. Derrick Lumsden | Sarver, PALooking for Signs
Worship Service: Informal Family - February 04, 2018
Signs are helpful in navigating through life. And there are lots of different kinds of signs. In autumn, the leaves turning gold is a sign of coming winter. A street sign can warn us of an unexpected turn in the road ahead. What are the signs of Faith? What are the signs that the Lord is helping us? And what are the signs that we are doing what the Lord asks of us? The Word is full of stories about different signs. We will look at the story of Gideon, who asked the Lord for signs (using a fleece and the dew) that He will save Israel from their enemies. The gist of it is that this is also a sign to us that our love and wisdom can grow within us in amazing ways! It is a practical reminder that the Lord is working within us to open our eyes and help us become more loving people (complete with the insights on how to do so). We will talk about the signs that the Lord can be present in each of our lives. | By Rt. Rev. David H. Lindrooth | Bryn Athyn Heilman HallYour Life is Not Your Own
Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - February 04, 2018
Who does your life belong to? We know that at least some of it belongs to the Lord so we make man effort to give Him His due share. But what if all of your life, every last bit of it, belongs to the Lord? At first this might seem like a constraining idea. But in fact it can be freeing. We do not have to balance out whit is mine and what is His; when we give it all to Him we free ourselves to live our best lives possible. | By Rev. Joel C Glenn | Westville, RSATrusting the Lord with Our Weakness

Worship Service: Sermon only - January 28, 2018
In this final part of our series following the book 'Heaven and Hell', we think about how, as hell acts to bring evil into human lives, the Lord gently reacts, guaranteeing us spiritual freedom and opening the door for our salvation. | By Rev. Garry B. Walsh | Phoenix, AZTen Commandments, Part 8 - Honesty Vs Fraud
Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - January 28, 2018
The Lord commands us not to steal. Stealing is more than taking others belongings, but includes all the ways we defraud others. When we choose to banish fraud from our lives, we become honest and sincere. | By Rev. Derrick Lumsden | Sarver, PAAs We Also Forgive Our Debtors

Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - January 28, 2018
When we have made the Lord a priority and started to work on living better we often expect things to change dramatically. Sadly, that is not the case. Changes in our external lives are an important beginning but we will not see real change until the change happens in our hearts. When the children of Israel built a house for the Lord not just as a place of worship but also as a state of mind, then the Lord could begin to bless them again. | By Rev. Joel C Glenn | Westville, RSARediscovery and Recommitment
Worship Service: Informal Family - January 28, 2018
In the time of King Josiah, the Word was rediscovered in the broken down temple. In the time of Swedenborg, the internal sense of the Word was rediscovered in the Christian Church that was in disrepair. Our lives can also be a broken down “temple” in disrepair, in which the Truth can become lost. How do we rediscover and recommit to the Truth that can help us rebuild and heal our lives? | By Rev. Solomon J. Keal | Bryn Athyn Heilman HallThe Importance of Learning
Worship Service: Family (may include music) - January 28, 2018
The more we understand what the Lord teaches and try to live according to it, the more useful we will be. But sometimes gaining knowledge so captures our mind that the learning seems all that is important even if we are not trying to obey it. | By Rev. Eric H. Carswell | Bryn Athyn CathedralThe Blessings and Dangers of Learning

King Saul and his pitifully small army were nothing compared to the Philistine invaders. Even worse the only weapons they had were two swords, one for Saul and one for his son, Jonathan. Saul apparently thought it was hopeless, but Jonathan had a different response—one that the Lord would like to inspire in us in challenging times. | By Rev. Eric H. Carswell | Bryn Athyn Heilman HallTen Commandments, Part 7 - Fundamental Loves
Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - January 21, 2018
The Lord offers us good boundaries which enable us to receive his greatest blessing in true married love. We face stiff cultural challenge and wrestle with our own nature. The Lord can lead us to love Him, His Word, and to help the world while also promising us the blessings of the greatest eternal joys and delights. | By Rev. Derrick Lumsden | Sarver, PARebuilding the House of the Lord - Part 2 - How to Keep Working
Worship Service: Childrens Talk & Adult Sermon - January 21, 2018
When the people obey the Lord and rebuild the house of the Lord it doesn't meet their expectations of what it should be. The Lord's response to them, through the prophet Haggai, can be very useful for us when the results of our spiritual efforts aren't quite what we think they should be. | By Rev. Malcolm G. Smith | Westville, RSAHow Good Can You Be?
