Lessons and text

"Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory," means Divine truth from God alone. It is also said "power and glory," because Divine truth has all power and glory. In very many passages in the Word, "the kingdom of God" signifies the church in respect to truths, and also heaven, and in the highest sense the Lord in respect to the Divine Human. "Kingdom," in the highest sense, signifies the Lord in respect to the Divine Human, because from Him all Divine truth proceeds; and "kingdom" signifies heaven, because heaven with the angels is from no other source than from the Divine truth that proceeds from the Lord's Divine Human. (Apocalypse Explained #48)
In the supreme sense "El" and "Elohim" signify the Lord as to truth. They also signify Him as to power; for truth is that of which power is predicated, because good acts by truth when it exerts power. Therefore wherever power from truth is treated of in the Word, the Lord is called "El" and "Elohim," that is, "God." Hence also it is that in the original language "El" also signifies one who is powerful. (AC 4402)
In heaven Divine Truth has all power, and apart from it there is no power whatever. From the Divine Truth all angels are called powers, and are powers to the extent that they are receptions or receptacles of it. By means of it, they prevail over the hells and over all that oppose them. A thousand enemies there cannot endure a single ray of the light of heaven which is Divine Truth. (HH 137)
As in the Word Divine truth is represented by royalty, the Lord as to Divine truth being represented by kings, therefore to Divine truth is attributed "glory," just as to a king. (AC 5922)
As by "the glory of Jehovah" is signified the Lord as to Divine truth, so also by "glory" are signified the Divine wisdom and intelligence, which are of the Divine truth from the Lord. (AC 8427)
